| 2007 Career Counciling-Coordinator Jigar
On Thursday, November 15th We invited our own university's career center advisor Ms.Shannon Copeland to give us the counseling on Resume writing and tips on interviews. The whole INSPIRE team attended the program. It was a wonderful experience with Shannon, when she enlightened us on professional resume writing and also gave us some valuable tips about the interviews. She started off with the details on a professional resume building. Shannon explained how the content of the resume matters in the screening process in any company and what the recruiters look for in the resumes. She taught us many important details of the resume, including the format and the topics to be included. She even sited the minute details like the paper quality to be used! We were given a sample of resume, that could give us some fair idea about the resume content. After your resume gets sort listed then comes the turn for your Interview. So now she started explaining the way one should wear clothes, how the body language should go, kind of very informative knowledge on facing any interview. The advisor emphasized how the small things like shaking hands can change the impression no the interviewers and how one should be quite aware of these things and act inline to that. "Attach:CareerCounciling1 In the end she also gave us useful hand outs that showed computer science students' demand in various fields all over the country. Certainly, the seminar helped us to understand the importance of the resume and to build an elegant and decent one for our near professional future. And the Interview tips too are going to be very handy. |
