April 9, 2008, I was all exited to attain the seminar from Sun official about the latest Sun's technology. Mr. Pradhan from Sun Microsystems, the speaker for the event, gave a fabulous talk on latest sun microprocessors namely,UltraSPARC T1/T2. It sounded very big but not anymore after his presentation. The way he explained about the SPARC architecture was indeed very informative. He took us to the minute details of their T1 & T2 Processors. For instance, How many threads each of them runs per core, what are the constrained on the dia size , Cache capacity of each of the processors and things like that. It was all like our Computer Architecture class but with the flavor of profession. Its was inthralling. Being a winner of the OpenSPARC competition, he didn't forget to encourage us about the competition. He briefed us on How one can participate and make contribution towards enhancing the processors' efficiency. Definitely after hearing his talk who didn't want to join Sun Microsystems. Looking at the students curiosity and question he also explained how it was working with Sun Microsystems and at the end of the seminar he did talk on careers at Sun. As being a computer science student I enjoyed the talk very much. Hope I would get to attain such seminars more and more.
