Inspired Robotics Academies - Summer 2008
The Inspired team held 3 Robotics Academies this summer. Inspired helped students discover the field of Computer Science
by holding two
Middle School Academies
and One
High School Academy.
The middle school camps were held on May 17, 2008 and May 31, 2008. The high school camp was held on June 16 - 20, 2008
Presentation to the Texas State University System Board of Regents
On February 22, the Texas State University System Board of Regents met on the Lamar University campus. Iris Beltran, an INSPIRED student, was selected as one of six undergraduates campus-wide to make a presentation to the Board in the LU Spotlight on Undergraduate Research& Creative Activity.
Spring Open House 2008
The Inspired team participated in the 2008 Lamar Spring Open House on Saturday February 23, 2008. The Inspired team spoke with potential students about joining the Lamar Computer Science Department.
Computer Science Career Forum
The Career Forum will be held on Friday, Feb. 22, 2008. The guest speakers will be Brenda K. Williams(Integrated Project Management Phone), LaTasha Gary(Global Channel Partner IT)and Toni Smith(Schlumberger SIS recruiting).
Fall Open House 2007 The Inspired team participated in the 2007 Lamar Fall Open House. The team presented
to the attending students and also gave them a tour of campus.
Math Fest 2007
This week the Inspired team and director Dr. Doershuk attended the annual Lamar University Math Fest held on November 1, 07.
Dr. Doershuk and Dr. Liu recieve NSF grant for Inspired
The National Science Foundation has awarded Lamar University a $490,000 grant to support its "Increasing Student Participation in Research Development" - INSPIRED - program.

Open Day
Yet another time INSPIRED intracted with highschool students to encourage them to join the Computer Science Department at Lamar University.
